A retelling of the End Game arc posted here Final Moves covers the events leading up to and including the Checkmate chapter of the story. The final battle with Dark Veil in his lab is exactly how I had imagined it when we first completed that event. _________________ The World of Necrotania - Story Writing Community

Thanks for the feedback last night
My PC crashed again and I got frustrated so I went to bed but I appreciate the spell check and comments on the overall arc.
I will be correcting the dialog errors as well as possibly working on some new contact dialog.
Also going to play with the last mission since it had a bunch of errors. Dark Veil was just too easy while the ambushes were way too hard and my escaping bosses got lost in them.
For the ambushes, I think I will create a second villain group that does not have the healing droids (Security MK-II) so the stacking buffs are not as bad. Drop the difficulty on the ambushes as well as move them to higher health % so they can actually help Dark Veil survive.
Or I could make one ambush of only healing droids. I will have top play with that
On the MM I think the best solution will be to switch him to Bot/Invinc. It will make the encounter last longer . _________________ The World of Necrotania - Story Writing Community

That was a lot of fun, and inspired me to try and make a decent adventure. _________________ I was placed on this Earth to put off doing something extraordinary. |

One comment I got was that while on the last mission the EB ally Calash made most of the content trivial.
I can understand this as he was running with Super Strength set to extreme for all the powers. Apparently he could 1 shot most minions with Hurl alone.
To counter this, and adjust the difficult of Mission 4 I decreased the Super Strength level for both Calash and the MK-II to Hard. This removes Rage, KO Blow, and Foot Stomp.
I also added a bunch of battles in Mission 3 since the map is a bit large and feels empty. Now the sounds of battle echo from all directions
Mission 3 is a bit of a let down to me the more I play it. Even with the battles there is so much space and so little to do.
Going over the mission I have a couple of changes that I will make the next time I sit down.
The first is the enemy group will be a bit more diverse. So far it is a very interesting mix, but mostly focused on one group. This will shift slightly to make it much more random.
Second I think I am going to add some more allies for flavor. LT level versions of some of Susans androids. Namely I will be adding Medi-1 and Cebrex to the mission as optional allies that you can find. Both do not play a direct part in this story but I would love to have them around for future reference. _________________ The World of Necrotania - Story Writing Community

You can, they are only text files in the COH directory.
My last mission is having problems with the final boss spawn. I have updated it to a larger map to try and get around this. Still need to play test it tonight to make sure it is not too long.
Also added an optional ally in Mission 3, just to spice things up a bit. _________________ The World of Necrotania - Story Writing Community

I have updated the difficulty and mobs slightly for a better experience.
Oddly, I can not seem to get the healing squad spawn to heal the EB they have come to protect. Not sure if this is a limitation of the engine or not. I can get them to indirectly heal by boosting the difficulty but this creates a AI version of a Healing Umbrella (Old Hami raiders will know what I am talking about). _________________ The World of Necrotania - Story Writing Community

General Notes,
I am not completely happy with MK-II. In trying to balance the encounter I have run into a bit of a snag. The difference between Hard and Extream for Super Strength is KO Blow, Rage, and Foot Stomp. Rage alone doubles his ability, never mind what KO Blow can do in one hit.
I will be playing with his settings a bit, possibly dropping him to Boss level to see if it evens out. _________________ The World of Necrotania - Story Writing Community

For kicks I let Calash and MK-II fight it out in the 4th missions.
MK-II won after a long drawn out battle.
So then I made a new mission with Vanguard Calash (AV level, extreme on both Fire/SS) And had him fight the MK-II

As I noted in the first post there are some major changes to this arc. Down to 4 missions, different maps, and rebalanced encounters.
Let me know what you think. _________________ The World of Necrotania - Story Writing Community
