History: Akari Yoshimuru, or Blastblaze, is something of a mystery.
Both of the his parents were murdered in 1996 and he was taken to a mutant training facility in Crey's Japan unit. They intended to use his skills to their own ends, which proved to be their downfall. Instead of bending his will, we strengthened it, making him a powerful fighting force.
He broke out shortly after capture and was lost until his mysterious reappearence in Paragon City.
At that time, he was known as Shadowblaze, an energy blaster with a knack for devices and inventing. He battled for just short of a year before attaining security level 50. The subject was heralded as one of the most powerful in the city, taking missions others would not, defeating villians once thought unbeatable.
It was this power that drew the Freedom Phlanax to him. They had a request. Seeing as how they could not leave the city ungaurded, they asked him to journey to the Rikti dimension in search of Hero 1, whose demise was recently disproved. He disappeared for two months, after leaving through Portal Corparation.
He was again lost, until sometime in mid-October, when a drug bust occured that sounded like his handiwork. After investigaing the bust, questioning the thugs, and seeing survaillance, it was deduced that he had returned, more powerful than ever.
He had left the devices of his past behind, instead opting for more energy based combat. His armor, once black as midnight, is now white as newfallen snow. He also appears to favor up-close combat now, as opposed to the ranged bait-and-pull tactics of his younger days.
Blastblaze's powers are mutant based, but he wears a power suit to control the level at which he fights. The gloves the subject wears contain controls that increase or negate the ferocity of his energy beams and punches.
